Westlock Poem

Westlock Poem

As summer time fades into colours of fall
We need to reflect on the busyness of it all.

In July here in Westlock we were excited to move
Back into our office and get into our groove.

We’ve made a few changes, one office is gone
In its place there are two sets of cubicles “mon” (groan)

It’s open and inviting, we’ve heard people say
Come over and visit to see it one day.

Our boardroom is bigger so more room to party
Er to have meetings and trainings (I’m laughing quite hearty).

Our day trip to Kdays was attended well
The weather we had was really quite swell.

Carny food was eaten and some rides were ridden
We are very happy the rain did stay hidden.

Each month we have a group get together
We celebrated each month, no matter the weather.

Men’s group was formed and it’s only for men,
I tried to crash it once, but never again!

They cook, and they visit and drink lots of coffee
Sometimes the table becomes rather squashy.

Our annual camp was a resounding success
There were lots of people and food in excess.

Tummies were filled with delicious food
It helped to keep everyone in a very good mood.

Many fish were caught by a few expert men
Catch and release and catch some again.

We had campers from here and campers from there
They seemed to be coming from every where!

On Wednesday we had the most people to date
The food they were served it tasted just great.

That must be why they come, as the cooks are just grand,
Thanks to everyone who gave us a hand.

The activities were arranged from crafts to the boats
The weather was awesome, it was so good to float.

New friends were made old friendships renewed
A whole lot of bonding improved all the moods.

As far as our staff there are milestones galore
Here are few that hit two years or more.

I’m afraid their names I cannot rhyme
So I will list them, one at a time.

2 Year milestones:
Joby George (practitioner)
Kelly Miller (casual staff)
Tinish Thomas (full time staff)

5 Year milestones:
Andrea Brown (part time staff)
Marie Stad (team leader) – this is me!

10 Year milestones:
Bonnie Elder (full time staff)
Michelle Dhalla (admin extraordinaire)

And there you have it that’s it and that’s all
Let’s say good-bye summer and hello to fall.
