Policy 10.08 – Statutory Holidays
Good Friday is coming up and it’s a Statutory Holiday in Canada. WJS Canada is a diverse organization and recognizes that employees of faiths other than Christianity may wish to take a holiday that pertains to their own religion.
If you are a member of a bona fide religion who wants to celebrate a holiday specific to your religion and are an hourly employee, you have the option of working Christmas Day or Good Friday in exchange for an equivalent number of days specific to your faith.
If you wish to take advantage of this option, please submit a request to your program manager by January 1st of each year or within 30 days of hire, with a copy to the HR department.
