Picture Your World: SharePoint Photo Contest

The build out for our internal communications hub, SharePoint is well underway. Thanks to the hard work of the dedicated project team, we’re on track to change the way we collaborate and share and store files across the organization.

There’s one thing that’s missing – the something/something, the je ne sais quoi that makes WJS Canada and the 85 communities we serve across three provinces, such great places to live and work and play.

And that’s where you and your camera come in. You don’t need to be a pro photographer or have a fancy camera. If your phone has a camera, you’re good to go (and if you need some tips on how to take a better picture with your phone, check this link out.

We’re inviting all staff members to submit photos that reflect WJS Canada, the work we do, and the places we do it. The photos can include our sites, our staff, symbols, landmarks, nature. The only limit is your imagination.

While we may not use every photo for the SharePoint site, we always have other places to use pictures.

For privacy reasons, we ask that you not submit pictures of the people we serve or pictures that show any confidential information. Pictures with staff members are fine, and if your picture is selected, we’ll send a photo release that everyone in the photo to sign.

Please send your photos in jpg format to Theresa Gebrail. If you shoot in film and want to submit a paper photograph that’s okay too. Just make sure the photo is labelled and you include your address, so it can be returned to you. Let us know the location, program if applicable, and the names of everyone in the photo. Don’t worry if the picture isn’t perfect, we can crop and edit it as necessary.

Here’s the best part, for every photo submitted, you’ll receive an entry into a draw for a $50 pre-paid card.

The deadline to submit your pictures is May 30, 2018. Thank you and happy snapping!

PS This contest is open to WJS Canada employees only. Please don’t submit photos taken by persons outside of WJS. Thank you.
