In January, we received a lovely letter of thanks from Cythera Transitions House Society. Cythera, based in Maple Ridge, helps women experiencing abuse with counselling, housing, and so much more.

In December, WJS Canada donated ten $50 gift cards to Cythera to help support families over the Christmas season.

In their note of thanks they write: “The women and children who access services at Cythera are very appreciative of the assistance they receive from this community. For many of our families who have experienced conflict and abuse, the holidays can be a particularly difficult time, both emotionally and financially. Your donation not only provided the women and their children with a little something extra at Christmas but also reminded them that there are people out there who care about them. This donation gives far more than the monetary value of the gifts – it truly provides them with hope and encouragement.”
