An Eye For Detail

Detail Communications has come on board to help WJS with marketing and communications. Michael Ford and Robin Evans have been working diligently behind the scenes to create a comprehensive strategy and develop foundational tools like graphic, editorial and brand standards – which will all be very helpful going forward.

Of course, there will always be projects that can’t wait until the strategy or guidelines are rolled out and Detail is here to help with those too. In the mean time they’re streamlining some of our existing communications tools (like the internal newsletter) so they work even better.

Currently, Dawn Yuen is Detail’s liaison at WJS. If you have any questions for Robin or Michael please email dyuen@wjscanada.com.

Here’s a little bit more detail about Michael and Robin:

Michael Ford, Communications + Strategy Director

Michael is the heart and mind behind Detail Communications. He brings his extensive marketing, communications and management experience, as well as that cheeky British sense of humour, to every project. His eye for detail, earned from years working in both client and creative services, is where Detail gets its name. A thorough and strategic thinker, Michael’s exacting approach to marketing and communications planning is tailored to each client’s needs – and he’s never satisfied with anything less than stellar results.

Before starting Detail over 10 years ago, Michael produced national television and radio, including CTV’s Vicki Gabereau. He also spent time leading MEC’s creative services in Vancouver and as VP for a boutique PR firm.

Robin Evans, Content + Media Director

Copywriter, editor and journalist; Robin has a way with words and a passion for corporate communications. She’s a master storyteller who loves to help clients develop brands that speak clearly to specific audiences. With a background in television and media relations, Robin develops media pitches that get noticed, and our clients appreciate her supportive and calm approach to interview training – especially in the midst of a crisis.

Robin has developed marketing and communications tools for non-profits and public offerings and has worked as a publicist for authors and artists alike. A life-long learner, she has several degrees including an MFA in Creative Writing from UBC (forthcoming).
