ACE and KAC

Update from the ACE Program and Kenora Attendance Centre

Summer is in full swing here at the ACE/KAC. Our youth are working hard on accomplishing their goals for the end of summer’s drawing nigh (did you have to remind us?)! We are once again proud to announce that we had one student who walked across the graduation stage this summer, and a second is inches behind just wrapping up some final volunteer hours. We’ve granted one credit since summer began, while another is greatly anticipated.

Our youth are busy with part time jobs, summer fun, and attending our Summer School Program. We are enjoying our time with our clients’ working on fun art projects like knitting, tie-dye, painting, cooking, nature adventures and continuing to work to help develop our clients’ skills, self-awareness, and relationship building with a splash of school work thrown in.

Recently we had a visitor from the YMCA of Greater Toronto who presented a workshop on gaming and gambling addiction for staff and clients. Nicole fit right in with our quirky sense of humour and ‘the colour of the day’ (see pic)!

Hope you’re all enjoying the rest of your summer! Your friends at the ACE/KAC.
