What is Happening in Client Services?

Team Work, Team Work, Team Work

Team work is the best way to describe leadership’s focus over the past couple of months.

Mike Rowlands from Junxion Strategy has been working with the National Management Team (NMT), the Regional Service Director Team (RSD), and the Provincial Management Group (PMG) to identify our leadership strengths, help build team and create an updated Terms of Reference. Teams have also been working hard at developing a new focus for meetings.

What Does this Mean?

Essentially, leadership is working hard at linking their work to the strategic plan. A thematic goal has been developed for each leadership team. A thematic goal is “the most important” thing that the team needs to focus on. Our thematic goals stretch until the end of June 2018. The thematic goals are designed to be rallying cries to bring everyone together in a passionate way.

For NMT- the thematic goal is “Craft Our Culture”

This means that the NMT is directing its focus on organizational culture. One of the activities that NMT will be engaging in is a values and principles exercise. You have received an email where you were asked to identify the values that you most identify with to help inform the process.

For RSDs- the thematic goal is “Clarify Our Culture”

This means that the RSD are working to provide you with the clarity that you crave. We have heard requests for role clarity and service delivery direction and that is our priority.

For PMG Alberta- the thematic goal is “Put the Train on the Tracks”

This speaks to the teams focus on training over this period. The Alberta PMG has identified a need for a training calendar, consistency in training expectations, and training outcomes.

For PMG B.C.- the thematic goal is “Energize!”

This means that the B.C. PMG wants to energize itself and the teams it supports through a focus on team work. Understanding where teams need additional support and engaging members in solutions is the priority.

What’s Next?

Identifying the thematic goal is just the start of the work that leadership needs to do. Next, each team will be working on setting strategic priorities and identifying standard operating objectives. Leadership will also be focusing on developing key performance indicators, or measures for success. Once we have established the work of these teams we can start to support the work of our other organizational teams.
